In an oasis of calm tucked away in the heart of London, Chinese author and traditional culture advocate Xue Mo led a unique workshop exploring the life-nurturing wisdom of the Huangdi Neijing (Inner Classic of the Yellow Emperor)āa 2,000-year-old cornerstone of Daoist and Chinese medical philosophy.
Through a blend of storytelling, philosophy, and practical reflection, Xue Mo brought ancient insights into modern focus. He invited attendees to re-examine concepts such as ę¬ę·”čę (serenity and emptiness) and ē²¾ē„å å® (inner stillness), showing how these principlesāonce practiced by the ancientsācan help us reduce emotional agitation, restore balance, and awaken the bodyās natural vitality in our fast-paced lives.
The discussion ranged from the impact of emotional stress on health to the energetic rhythms of the universe, with Xue Mo drawing fascinating links between classical texts and contemporary wellbeing. Practical advice was shared too, from exercise moderation to seasonal living and the philosophy behind eating less to gain more.
Guests enjoyed traditional Chinese tea and snacks in a serene and welcoming setting. Many commented on how nourishing it feltānot just for the body, but for the spirit.
This event formed part of MBLās Culture for Children initiative, supporting holistic wellbeing through the wisdom of Chinese traditions.
